More than 3,500 students attend classes in the Wapakoneta City Schools, where education take place in five separate buildings. In 1989, the district completed construction of a new high school facility, a 175,000 square foot facility now housing grades 8-12. The school features a 3,000-seat gymnasium, new soccer facilities, a state-of-the-art library/media center, 300 seat lecture/multimedia presentation room and 76 classrooms and computer labs. Wapakoneta City Schools provides the latest in educational technology and has unique partnerships with several local companies. The building is also used by adults participating in adult education classes, college classes, distance learning programs and after school hours fitness programs. The school buildings include Centennial Elementary, Cridersville Elementary, Northridge Elementary, Wapakoneta Middle and Wapakoneta High School.
